The Great Goat Gathering

The Great Goat Gathering
October 17th & 18th

What is the Great Goat Gathering and how will it help you? At the Gathering, Yvonne Zweede-Tucker’s team will explore the traits in goats that make lives easier. What makes a productive meat goat productive, and how to identify (with your eyes as well as with numbers) what makes a great goat. The animal, the environment, how they interact and how to optimise the good traits in your goats will be explored.

After a Friday evening (October 17 from 7 p.m. on) informal “Meet and Greet” at the Stage Stop Inn, Saturday morning October 18 will be devoted to looking at different age groups of both pure Spanish and Spanish-Boer/Savanna composite goats of both sexes inside Choteau’s Weatherbeater building, where the goats will be penned for your convenience.
The day’s learnings will wrap up with a delectable dinner (cost also included in your registration!) including several different types of goat meat, prepared in different ways. Each dish will be clearly identified for those who would like to know what it is. They will have vegetables, gluten free items, salads, and a scrumptious dessert including Montana wild huckleberries. The details of the menu are being worked on now, so if you have specific likes or dislikes, let her know!
